7/12-17/2012 Singapore:  As mentioned before, numerous parks were visited including the Botanical
Gardens.  Some of our favorite birds are sunbirds (the Asian answer to hummers of the Americas).  Here
is a Olive-backed Sunbird study showing the gorgeous male, a juv. male, and a female.  Then, we were
treated to a male Crimson Sunbird with a juv. male in tow.  It was a wonderful show!
7/12-17/2012 Singapore:  Numerous parks were visited including the Botanical Gardens.  Also in the BG
were Common Myna , Oriental Magpie-Robin , Scaly-breasted Munia nest-building, Yellow-vented Bulbul ,
f. Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker (for male, click "next page" below), and Spotted Dove.  Also shown: a
White-throated Kingfisher (study, a few pics of a Javan Myna bathing, and an Ashy Tailorbird.
7/12-17/2012 Singapore:  Around Changi Village we found a Asian Koel (f) calling and spitting up seeds.  A
Red-breasted Parakeet flock was tearing around the skies.  A brown-throated Sunbird family was casing
the trees (though we are never quite sure of the female sunbird IDs) along with a Black-naped Oriole
family. Also shown: Tanimbar Corella on the ground, a Pacific Swallow resting, and Sunda Pygmy
Woodpecker (or now Sunda Woodpecker ).
