8/24/11  A few pics from around Hockessin, DE:  A Ruby-throated Hummingbird , a Red-bellied
Woodpecker , a Downy Woodpecker , a Song Sparrow , a Warbling Vireo (large bill but supporting images
just don't show a yellow chest for Philadelphia), a Common Yellowthroat , and a Gray Catbird family.  A
few more pics from 4/28/11 Magee Marsh, OH (Is it really August already?):  Red-breasted Nuthatch ,
Northern Rough-winged Swallow , and a Black-capped Chickadee.  Better late than never.
8/31/11  Days have been brilliant - had to get out in the morning light!  Hockessin, DE:  A Warbling Vireo ,
a Tufted Titmouse searching for breakfast, cool interactions going on among the male Northern Flickers,
an Indigo Bunting, an American Goldfinch , a Carolina Chickadee , and an Eastern Pewee flock.
9/1/11  Another brilliant morning in Hockessin, DE:  A Common Yellowthroat came out to investigate, a
Downy Woodpecker couldn't have cared less, the Gray Catbird family put on a show, a Green Heron kept
one eye on the lens, the juvenile Northern Mockingbird was curious while the young Northern Cardinal
and the Song Sparrow flock were rather shy.
9/4/11 A brief stop at Conowingo Dam, MD:  Osprey , double-crested cormorant , Bald Eagle , Black
Vulture mug shot, Baltimore Oriole working on berries, and tons of Tree Swallows (and others)
migrating.  Hockessin, DE: American Redstart , Common Yellowthroat , a Northern Cardinal family that
looked a sight in molt but provided interesting shots, two juv. Song Sparrow studies, and a
White-breasted Nuthatch.
9/16/11 Hockessin, DE: A computer crash put us out of action for a bit but here are some migrants.  A
beautiful White-eyed Vireo showed up with a Prairie Warbler, a Nashville Warbler , a Blackburnian
Warbler , and a Pine Warbler.  A Northern Parula allowed a study.  Then a Cape May Warbler flock
whipped through followed by a young male American Redstart finale !
