| 4/25/20 Amelia Island, FL: With the sun flitting in and out of the clouds, we caught some birds in great light and others in dim shadows. But we sure had fun seeing them all! First: Yellow- throated Warbler (what a beauty!) and another Yellow-billed Cuckoo (6th one we have seen this week). Next: Went back to the Red-bellied Woodpecker nest where the parents were actively feeding the unseen chicks. Also: Northern Cardinal , Palm Warbler , distant Indigo Bunting , Gray Catbird , Eastern Bluebird , Bald Eagle (2 juvs. at nest but they had fledged by 26th.), Black-and-white Warbler , and a Downy Woodpecker making a hole. Butterflies were still around as were the skeeters! |

| 4/26/20 Amelia Island, FL: Seeing a Great Horned Owl is always interesting! (For two adult GREAT HORNED OWLS apparently fighting CLICK HERE AND scroll down page.) Catching a Blackpoll Warbler in breeding plumage was also fun, while observing a Downy Woodpecker nest in action wasn't too shabby either. Also shown: Orchard Oriole , Savannah Sparrow , Spotted Sandpiper in breeding plumage, and a Carolina Wren . |
