| 4/28/19 to 5/6/19 TX and AZ: We were busy the month of April with the grand baby and the flu but bounced back to head out to TX and AZ for a camping trip. We stopped at Lost Maples and Big Bend National Park in TX, then headed to Paradise and Patagonia in AZ. It was an amazing trip with lots of birds and amazing stargazing at night. | 4/29/19 to 5/2/19 Big Bend National Park, TX: WOW - what a stunning place. The highlight had to be the Colima Warbler (on a 12mi circular hike which we started at 4am. Saw 4, heard 6!) Also: Vermilion Flycatcher (m,f), an amazing Varied Bunting male sitting out for us, Townsend's Warbler (f), Summer Tanager (m), Scissor-tailed Flycatcher , Scaled Quail , Say's Phoebe , Greater Roadrunner , and Gray Flycatcher . We were in heaven! |
| 4/29/19 to 5/2/19 Big Bend National Park, TX: Pyrrhuloxia , Golden-fronted Woodpecker , Canyon Towhee , Eastern Meadowlark , Cassin's Sparrow , Black Phoebe , Rufous-crowned Sparrow , Common Raven , Cactus Wren , and Brewer's Sparrow . The desert was in bloom! |
