1/30/19 Little Talbot SP, FL: It was WAY too cold for Florida (We are talking 32 degrees!) and the birds were obviously waiting for better weather to show themselves. A brief visit to the state park caught: a friendly Kildeer , a flyby Northern Harrier , and a Swamp Sparrow . For January's TX and AZ trip, click on NEXT PAGE below!

2/5/19 Fort Moultrie, SC and Huntington Beach SP, SC: The brilliant morning offered a Eastern Bluebird flock, a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher hunting in flowers, and a coy Nashville Warbler peering from a bush. Also: Bonaparte's Gull , Chipping Sparrow , Greater Yellowlegs , and a possible Rusty Blackbird .

2/9/19 to 2/13/19 Sax-Zim Bog, Duluth, MN: Our Arctic Vortex trip was a hoot! (Alesches' Accommodations was wonderful and is highly recommended. Thanks so much, Cindy and Mark!) Braving -30 degrees and a blizzard, we caught Northern Hawk Owl , Pine Grosbeak (f,m), Canada Jay (or Gray Jay) , Red-breasted Nuthatch , Black-backed Woodpecker (f), Common Redpoll , Black-capped Chickadee , and Ruffed Grouse. Of poorer quality but still of interest, images were had of a Ring-necked Pheasant and Sharp-tailed Grouse displaying in the distance.
