| 6/14/2016 thru 7/1/2016 We traveled to Las Vegas, NV - on to Lone Pine, CA - then to San Diego, CA - and to Santa Cruz Island, CA (for the endemic Island Scrub-Jay) - up to San Francisco, CA - and finally out to Denver, CO . It was a great trip to see family and we also picked up some life birds for us . |
| 6/19-20/2016 Glacier Lodge , Onion Valley, Lone Pine, CA : Red-breasted Sapsucker , Northern Flicker (red shafted) feeding young, Barn Swallow , House Wren , Western Tanager (for more of these, click on NEXT PAGE below), American Robin (juv,ad), Green-tailed Towhee gathering ladybugs , and a Great Horned Owl youngster lacking the "ear tuffs" for some reason. |
| 6/19-20/2016 Horseshoe Meadows and Onion Valley, Lone Pine, CA : Warbling Vireo , Mountain Chickadee , Clark's Nutcracker , and a Dark-eyed Junco family. |
| 6/22/2016 San Diego, CA : Our two target birds proved easy while area traffic was more of a challenge! The Ridgway's Rail came out feeding juveniles and the California Gnatcatcher came as a pair. Also, Anna's Hummingbird, Bushtit , California Towhee , Red-tailed Hawk with a snake , Savannah Sparrow , and Yellow-crowned Night-Heron . |
