| 6/15/2016 Mount Charleston, Las Vegas, NV and Glacier, near Big Pine, CA: One of the stars was a gorgeous male Western Tanager that came down to see what we were doing. A Red-breasted Sapsucker was bringing food to its hole. We also saw Steller's Jay , Western Bluebird , Gray Vireo , and a Pinyon Jay hoard flocking down the mountain in NV with the young swarming the parents. It was quite a sight to see. Also, A Pacific-slope Flycatcher (unusual at Glacier?) , Broad-tailed Hummingbird (f), House Wren , Black-tailed Gnatcatcher , Pied-billed Grebe , Cooper's Hawk , and Verdin (ad, juv) . |
