7/3/2014  Green Cay and Wakodahatchee Wetland Preserves, FL: One of our favorite birds is the Purple
Gallinule just for the fabulous colors.  Also, a juvenile is shown along with a very wet Red-shouldered
Hawk and a Purple Swamphen with young.
7/3/2014  Green Cay and Wakodahatchee Wetlands Preserves, FL: Great Blue Heron (juv), Least Tern ,
Black-bellied Whistling Duck , Mallard , Green Heron , Double-crested Cormorant , Common Moorhen ,
Cattle Egret being mobbed by youngsters , and Anhinga individuals.
7/5+6/2014  Least Tern Colony, Amelia Island, Fl:  A chick being fed and an adult with visible eggs were
fun to see.  The Least Terns seem to be such good parents and are very protective.  It is important to
keep dogs on leashes and keep them as far from the colony's safe ropes as you can.
