5/26/2014 Huguenot Mem. Park, FL:   We also need to report an Iceland Gull at the park.  We hear it has
been there for a bit so it may stick around.
5/16/2014 Huguenot Mem. Park, FL:  Black-bellied Plover , Dunlin in breeding plumage, Herring Gull ,
massive Laughing Gull and Royal Tern colony , Red Knot studies , Ring-billed Gull , and Sanderling .
5/16/2014 St Augustine, Fl:  Everyone is older now; nests are being enlarged for teens, and some are
leaving the nest unbidden. Shown:  Wood Stork , Tricolored Heron , and Snowy Egret .  It was interesting
to watch a young Roseate Spoonbill proudly leave the nest only to be ushered back by a concerned and
watchful parent. (The alligators are just waiting below for an awkward flyer!)   It is also always fun to
watch the Great Egret feed their teens.  The peaceful nest scene disintegrates to a total chaos of wings
and beaks when a meal of spit up fish arrives. Only one can be fed at a time but the young don't want to
wait their turn.  It is astonishing that more eyes are not lost in the simple process of feeding the young.
