8/15 thru 20/13 Sri Lanka.  We flew into Columbo and met up with Sam of Eco Team touring group.  A big
thanks to him and Shelton for showing us their beautiful country.  Being birders and wildlife lovers, we
headed for the national parks, of course.  The first night we stayed at the Blue Magpie Lodge near the
Sinharaja Rain Forest in the "wet" zone.
8/21/13 Chennai, India.  A visit to Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary was interesting in spite of the fact that the
birds hadn't migrated in yet.  It is supposedly fantastic in the winter months for bird viewing.
8/19/13 Bundala National Park, Sri Lanka. Fabulous spot for birds.  First designated as an important
wetland in 1990, one can see the Greater Flamingo during migration here.
8/17+18/13 In the "dry" zone, we took a safari into Uda Walawe National Park and Yala National park where
we saw wild elephants, monkeys, crocs, and a rare leopard.  (More animal pics coming.)  Birding was
great. Also shown:  the famous Ceylon tea crops, Kalu's resort, and scenes from towns we passed through.
