| 10/1/2013 Xishuangbanna, China: It was exciting to catch a glimpse of the jungles of southern China. Elephant Valley and the Menlun Botanical Gardens were explored. The valley allowed aerial views of the rain forest via a very cool cable car and platform walkway and the gardens were magnificent! A few shots of the birds around the hotel: Red-whiskered Bulbul , Taiga Flycatcher , Black-headed Munia , Japanese White-eye , Common Kingfisher , Chinese Pond Heron , Sooty-headed Bulbul , 1 pic of a Brown-breasted Bulbul , White Wagtail (3 diff subsp), and Oriental Magpie Robin. |
| 9/27/2013 Near Shanghai, China: Migration in progress! Blue-and-white Flycatcher family was lingering about while Asian Brown Flycatchers competed for breakfast. Also: a Richard's Pipit trio was in the area, White-cheeked Starling , Dark-sided Flycatcher , Long-tailed Shrike , and Crested Myna (juv). |
