| 9/7+8/2013 Beidaihe, China: A BIG thanks to Jean (bsots@263.net ) who arranged our trip at the last minute and showed us all the great birding spots. You were great, Jean! Although we were a little early for migrants, we enjoyed a brief trip to this part of China and stayed on Happy Island where we, the birds, and the monks had the place basically to ourselves! Beidaihe and Happy Island: a Chinese Grey Shrike, a migrating Barn Swallow flock swarming a Chinese pagoda roof, and a grey-tailed Tattler . Also, A Common Hoopoe with dinner! |

| 9/14/2013 Near Shanghai, China: Migration was in progress on a beautiful day! Below: Eurasian Wryneck , Long-tailed Shrike , Common Snipe , many Grey Wagtail individuals were flitting about, Crested Myna , Marsh Sandpiper , Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, Un-IDed warbler (prob Arctic), Chinese Egret , Black-winged Stilt flock , Arctic Warbler , and Common Greenshank . |
