| 5/30/2013-6/2/13: Okinawa, Japan: Okinawa is a beautiful island and it was exciting to see some of its special birds including its 2 endemics. Shown here: The day started with an impressive sunrise after which we were treated to both a white and dark morph Pacific Reef Egret. Also shown: Oriental Turtle Dove , Intermediate Egret , Common Greenshank , Black-winged Stilt , Common Coot , a juvenile Okinawa Rail and family , Great Egret , Rock Pigeon , juv. Common Moorhen , Spot-billed Duck , and Little Egret. (And we were able to save the gorgeous yellow moth that was stuck in our hotel lobby - after a quick shot of course!) |
