| 2/8-13/2013: Our trip to Palawan, Philippines was fascinating. A big thanks to Rommel Cruz of ERC (Eco-Education & Resources Center) and his driver Jo Jo! The island was simply beautiful and the locals were very sweet in aiding our search for birds. We visited the underground river site on the west coast of the island then crossed back towards Puerto Princesa and birded that area, including Pandan Island. Many name changes have taken place recently and the island now has more endemics. |
| 2/13/2013: Pandan ISland, Palawan: White-breasted Woodswallow , White-bellied Sea-Eagle (Zoo shot), Zebra Dove , a Plain-throated Sunbird pair, Pied Fantail , Mantanani Scops-Owl , Grey Imperial-Pigeon , Great-billed Heron , Grey-tailed Tattler , and a Barred Rail who made a mad dash between the mangroves. |
| 3/6/2013: Gongqing Park, Shanghai, China: The park had some treats on a sunny morning: A little female Yellow-bellied Tit ventured out for a drink while the White-rumped Munia clan gathered as usual to feast on green slime. Also: Red-flanked Bluetail , Pallas's Leaf Warbler , Pale Thrush , Eurasian Blackbird , Eurasian Siskin (m,f), Brambling , Black-faced Bunting , and a Chinese Bulbul, of course. |
| 3/8/2013: Huading Mountain National Park area, China: continued: White-crowned Forktail , Vinous-throated Parrotbill , a Red-billed Blue Magpie study , Great Tit , Plumbeous Water Redstart , Olive-backed Pipit , Grey-capped Greenfinch , and a Long-tailed Shrike singing a spring song. |
