2/8-13/2013: Our trip to Palawan, Philippines was fascinating.  A big thanks to Rommel Cruz of ERC
(Eco-Education & Resources Center) and his driver Jo Jo!  The island was simply beautiful and the locals
were very sweet in aiding our search for birds.  We visited the underground river site on the west coast
of the island then crossed back towards Puerto Princesa and birded that area, including Pandan Island.
Many name changes have taken place recently and the island now has more endemics.
2/10+11/2013:  It was special to see a male Lovely Sunbird!  He WAS absolutely lovely and came down low
to sing.  Also: a Rufous-tailed Tailorbird, a Blue-naped parrot , a Hill Myna , an Olive-backed Sunbird study
(m+f) - the male ObS looks quite different here, Palawan Flowerpecker , and a Pale Spiderhunter study.
2/10+11/2013: a mix of west and east coast, Palawan: Wood Sandpiper , Spot-throated Flameback , Pygmy
Flowerpecker , Plaintive Cuckoo , Sharp-tailed Sandpiper , Pink-necked Green-Pigeon (f), Marsh
Sandpiper , Little-ringed Plover , Copper-throated Sunbird , Cattle Egret , Black-winged Stilt , Swinhoe's
Snipe taking a bath , Yellow Wagtail , Striated Grassbird , and a Forest Wagtail .  More coming!
