2/8-13 2013: Our trip to Palawan, Philippines was fascinating.  A big thanks to Rommel Cruz of ERC
(Eco-Education & Resources Center) and his driver Jo Jo!  The island was simply beautiful and the locals
were very sweet in aiding our search for birds.  We visited the underground river site on the west coast
of the island then crossed back towards Puerto Princesa and birded that area, including Pandan Island.
2/8&9/2013: Many name changes and splits have apparently taken place!  Shown here: an Ashy Drongo
study.  Then: Ashy-fronted Bulbul, Blue-headed Racquettail , Common Iora , Dollarbird , Green
Imperial-Pigeon, Palawan Blue Flycatcher, Bar-bellied Cuckoo-shrike , and a Black-headed Bulbul .
2/8&9/2013: Many name changes and splits have apparently taken place!  A Palawan Peacock-Pheasant
was a real treat to see as was the Palawan Hornbill !  Also shown: Spot-throated Flameback , Yellow
Wagtail , Spangled Drongo , Palawan Flowerpecker , Palawan Bulbul , White-vented Shama , and a
Plain-throated Sunbird .
2/8&9/2013: Many name changes and splits have apparently taken place.   Purple-throated Sunbird (m),
Plaintive Cuckoo , Plain-throated Sunbird (f), Pygmy Flowerpecker , Olive-backed Sunbird (m+f),
Chestnut-breasted Malkoha , Greater Flameback (erythrocephalus race), Black-winged Stilt , Little-ringed
Plover , and Yellow-throated Leafbird .   More coming!
