11/27/12 Century Park, Shanghai, China: While we usually see winter-plumaged bluetails, it was exciting to finally catch a "blue" male Red-flanked Bluetail who was quite friendly. Also shown: A Chinese Bulbul hovering, an Azure-winged Magpie study (had to wait a while for one to land in the berries!), and a female Daurian Redstart along with fall colors.

11/27/12 Huangshan, Yellow Mountain, China: We were busy hiking but did manage to catch a Red-billed Blue Magpie flock and an Eastern Great Tit pair hanging about the trail. More scenery at our ASIA Tourist Pages - it was gorgeous on the mountain!
11/11/12 Anting Town, China: A very late brood for a Common Moorhen. We hope the little ones do well!

12/3/12 Century Park, Shanghai, China: Have been enjoying the Azure-winged Magpie flock at the park - they are just beautiful birds! Look for them hiding berries in the palms for the colder months. Also, Chinese Grosbeak (m+f) flock eating, Chinese Bulbul in flight, Yellow-bellied Tit (m+f), Dusky Thrush , Pale Thrush , Little Egret , Grey-backed Thrush, and Vinous-throated Parrotbill.
