10/8+9/11  Birding Northern DE with an Ashland Hawkwatch stop (thanks Cyrus!):  It was Yellow-rumped
Warbler time!  Also: a White-crowned Sparrow , a Song Sparrow study of many birds, a Sharp-shinned
Hawk , a Palm Warbler , various Northern Cardinal individuals, an Indigo Bunting , a House Finch flock
and a House Sparrow , some Gray Catbird individuals, a Common Yellowthroat , and a Blackpoll Warbler !
10/15+16/11  Birding northern DE, with a stop at Ashland Hawkwatch (No, we didn't get to see the Golden
Eagle), and Conowingo, MD : A Ruby-crowned Kinglet was checking among some berries while an
accipiter (thought it was a male Cooper's Hawk from flight) perused the trees for a meal.  Black Vultures
and Bald Eagles were offering opportunities to itchy fingers at the dam - they are always fun to watch!
10/22+23/2011  CHSP and Ashland, DE:  A Hermit Thrush posed nicely along with a Blackpoll Warbler.  The
Golden-crowned Kinglet didn't sit still for long and the Eastern Towhee pair vanished quickly.
Yellow-rumped Warbler flocks were abundant.  Also shown: a White-breasted Nuthatch, a Red-breasted
Nuthatch, and an American Robin flock gorging happily on berries.
10/24/2011 Couldn't pass up a brilliant morning and ran out for some shots.  Nothing unusual but some of
the usual suspects allowed some close pictures: a Ruby-crowned-Kinglet , a Carolina Chickadee , a flock
of House Finch , and a Northern Cardinal .  An American Goldfinch flock in nonbreeding plumage came in
to feed while a little Song Sparrow wondered what was going on!
