9/5/2009 Cape May, NJ offered up a beautiful day and the birds were swarming. Especially  prevalent
were Eastern Kingbirds - hundreds easily.  We were excited to capture a Nashville Warbler , a
Black-and-white Warbler , an American Redstart in a warning pose, a White-eyed Vireo , a Downy
Woodpecker ,  a Great Crested Flycatcher , a male Baltimore Oriole with a juv., a Red-eyed Vireo , a
Ruby-throated Hummingbird (a juv male), and a Veery ! To say we enjoyed the day is an understatement!
9/5/2009 Traveling along the coast of NJ near Heislerville WMA, we caught pics of a Mute Swan , a
Black-throated Green Warbler , a Yellow Warbler , a Brown Pelican , a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher catching a
bug , and some Wild Turkey .
9/6/2009 Hockessin, DE Woodpeckers were coming through on migration. Caught a beautiful Hairy
Woodpecker , a White-breasted Nuthatch , a Red-bellied Woodpecker , and a Northern Flicker troupe -
stunning! A Song Sparrow and juv peeked out along with a Red-eyed Vireo.
9/12+13 Delaware had some beauties coming through in migration. Of note, a Clay-colored Sparrow ! Also
seen: an American Redstart family who seemed to have adopted a Northern Parula and a Cape May
Warbler . An immature male Indigo Bunting refused to come out into the open only half-dressed. A green
Heron , a Northern Cardinal , a Tufted Titmouse with a spider sac (?), and a House Wren made it a party!
