| 11/21/2017 : Island of Tobago: After the Red-billed Tropicbird treat (click NEXT PAGE below), we were back at Newton George's place for a White-tailed Saberwing (m+f) study and the Rufous-breasted Hermit. Also caught more Copper-rumped Hummingbird individuals. The numbers of hummers were overwhelming! Thanks, Newton, for helping us find our target birds in the flurry of wings! Then he took us out looking for White-tailed Nightjar ! So cool. Thanks again, Newton. |
| 11/23/2017 : Trinidad and Tobago: Back on Trinidad, we spent the day at Caroni Swamp with our wonderful guide Lester Nanan, grandson and son of the preserve's founders and an avid protector of the Scarlet Ibis. We got to see the strange Boat-billed Heron , Green Kingfisher , Mangrove Cuckoo , Northern Waterthrush , Osprey , Plain-breasted Ground Dove , Red-rumped Woodpecker, and a sleepy sloth.
