| 11/16-23/2017 : Trinidad and Tobago. WOW - what a great trip! 11/17/17 Our Guide Maheesh (sp?) from Asa Wright Nature Center took us to Nariva Swamp - Thanks, Maheesh! With amazing eyesight, he pointed out an Aplomado Falcon and other goodies such as a Yellow-headed Caracara with a catch and a White-headed Marsh Tyrant pair. |
| 11/17/17 Still with our Guide Maheesh (sp?) from Asa Wright Nature Center at Nariva Swamp: A Pied Water Tyrant , Carib Grackle , and a cool Striped Cuckoo . Also: Yellow-hooded Blackbird , Blue-black Grassquit (with a jumping display), Yellow-bellied Elaenia , White-tailed Goldenthroat , Wattled Jacana , a very dark, possibly oiled, Striated Heron , Southern Lapwing , Tropical Kingbird , Savannah Hawk , Shiny Cowbird , Ringed Kingfisher , Smooth-billed Ani , Ruddy Ground Dove , and a distant Pale-breasted Spinetail (a new bird for us!). A very fun day! |
