7/21/2015 Amelia Island and Huguenot Memorial Park, FL, USA: Two male Pileated Woodpeckers checking out the view over Egan's Creek and a Royal Tern study of various individuals and groups interacting at the Huguenot colony. Also: flock of White Ibis (adults and juveniles) flying over the dunes there at dawn.

7/21/2015 Amelia Island and Huguenot Memorial Park, FL, USA: Mallard female with chicks and Laughing Gull with young. We also were able to go to a couple of Loggerhead Sea Turtle excavations. There was a lone hatchling left in two of the nests. (The rest had apparently hatched nicely and made it to the water, leaving only egg shards behind in the nest hole. ) A big thanks to the Amelia Island Turtle Watch group who teach us so much about these cool creatures. Sunrises and storm clouds have been awesome!

7/28/2015 mostly Okefenokee NWA, GA, USA: Pileated Woodpecker , juvenile Little Blue Heron , Great Egret , juvenile Eastern Towhee , and Red-headed Woodpecker with young'un. On one path near the water, there were so many alligators that we thought it wise to make more noise than usual.
