| 12/16/20 to 12/30/20 We traveled to see family and birded as we quarantined between families. We stopped at Quivira NWR, KS, on the way west and caught wonderful hawk morphs, then hit CO, NV, TX, AR, seeing the Spotted Rail, Sprague's Pipit, and Smith's Longspur and so much more. | 12/24/20 to 12/25/20: Choke Canyon SP and Attwater NWR, TX: Vermilion Flycatcher , Northern Shoveler , Marsh Wren , Eastern Phoebe , and the reported Spotted Rail peeking out of the grass (These are poor pics but we did get to see it. Unfortunately we did not have time to hang at this beautiful spot.). |
| 12/24/20 to 12/25/20: Attwater NWR, TX: American Pipit , Field Sparrow , Black Vulture , Great Egret , Grasshopper Sparrow , Lincoln's Sparrow , Savannah Sparrow , Ring-necked Duck , Ruby-crowned Kinglet , Vesper Sparrow (and a possible Vesper Sparrow), Yellow-rumped Warbler , Couch's Kingbird , and a rather ragged Northern Caracara (Crested Caracara). |
