| 7/30 to 8/9/19 We headed out west to Colorado, then Nevada and Idaho. After having fun with family members, we made for the mountains, prairies, and canyons. Two goal birds were the Himalayan Snowcock (We photographed as a speck miles away) and the Cassia Crossbill (We caught them rather high in the trees). Along the way, we saw many other birds, meteor showers, and amazing wild flowers. CLICK on NEXT PAGE below to go back in time. |

| 8/1 to 8/4/2019 Las Vegas and Mount Charles, NV: A White-faced Ibis and Costa's Hummingbird study. Then: Common Goldeneye (f), Black-chinned Hummingbird , Cinnamon Teal , Verdin , Downy Woodpecker , Pied-billed Grebe , leucistic Eared Grebe , Green Heron , Ruddy Duck (m,f), Mourning Dove , Great-tailed Grackle (m), and House Finch (f). It was Hot HOT HOT! |
| 8/1/2019 Garden of the Gods, Denver, CO: A brief visit with family brought us to a pretty spot where we caught a Lesser Goldfinch (m), Lazuli Bunting (m), and Western Wood-Pewee . |

| 8/1 to 8/4/2019 Las Vegas and Mount Charles, NV: It was some 40 degrees cooler on Mt. Charles (than LV at 108 degrees) where we found Yellow-rumped Warbler juveniles galore, Western Tanager (f), Western Bluebird (m,juv), Broad-tailed Hummingbird, and Violet-green Swallow juveniles landing in the trees. |
