| 5/29 and 5/24/18: Jacksonville and Amelia Island, FL: An American Oystercatcher pair was thinking about nesting while the nesting Brown Pelican flock was in full swing - fascinating to watch. Also: Great Blue Heron , possible Herring Gull , and nesting Laughing Gulls. Prior to the beach visit, we paused to see some Painted Buntings. Sunrises from the month of May. |
| 5/29/18: Jacksonville, FL: First, a Sandwich Tern pair interacting. Then: Black Skimmer, Royal Tern, Ring-billed Gull , Laughing Gull (nesting by ROTE, a hidden nest in the cactus, and non-breeding comparison pic), Herring Gull (with COGR), and nesting Brown Pelican study. It was great fun to watch the nest material being brought in and "handed" off. |
