| 2/1 - 2/11/2017 Costa Rica: We had a fantastic trip to Costa Rica - the people were lovely and the scenery was gorgeous. We traveled to Monteverde (1 day down to Pacific Coast, also Santa Elena and Paradise Reserve - Thanks, Jorge!), then to Dave and Dave's at La Virgen - Thanks, Dave and Dave! (and La Selva), and on to Poas Volcano and La Paz. The hummingbirds and trogons and toucans were awesome! It will take a while to go throught the images. | 2/8/2017 Day 8, We returned to Dave and Dave's Nature Pavillion in the morning and drove to Le Paz in the afternoon. Some beauties: Yellow-throated Toucan , Red-legged Honeycreeper (m), Rufous-winged Woodpecker , Olive-backed Euphonia , Montezuma Oropendola , Green Honeycreeper (m,f), Crimson-collared Tanager , Blue-grey Tanager (with Palm T.) , Collared Aracari study , Black-cowled Oriole , Black-cheeked Woodpecker , Red-billed Pigeon , and Golden-hooded Tanager . |

La Paz area: Black-bellied Hummingbird , Coppery-headed Emerald (m,f), Bay-headed Tanager , Emerald Toucanet , Green-crowned Brilliant (f), Green Hermit (m,f,), Green Thorntail (f, m at feeder), Spangle-cheeked Tanager , Silver-throated Tanager , Rufous-tailed Hummingbird , Violet Saberwing , Red-headed Barbet , and Prong-billed Barbet . |
