| 8/15-20/2013 Sri Lanka was wonderful! The people were so friendly, the landscape beautiful and clean, and the wildlife fantastic! A big thanks to our keen guide Sam from the Eco Team Tours who taught us so much about the nature around us. The trip was too short but we got to visit Sinharaja Rain Forest, then headed to the dry region where we took safaris into Udawalawe National Park, Yala National Park, and Bundala National Park. Some birds from Sinharaja: Sri Lanka Blue Magpie , Red-faced Malkoha (hidden) Orange-billed Babbler , and Intermediate Egret . Then, Malabar Trogon , Layard's Parakeet , Dark-fronted Babbler , Crested Tree Swift , Black-naped Monarch , Black-hooded Oriole , Crested Serpent Eagle , and Emerald Dove . |

| 8/15-20/2013 Sri Lanka: Sinharaja Rain Forest: Sri lanka Junglefowl (m+f) , Sri Lanka Green Pigeon, Sri Lanka Scimitar Babbler , Sri Lanka Drongo , Sri Lanka Swallow , Sri Lanka White-eye , White-throated Kingfisher , Yellow-browed Bulbul , Yellow-billed Babbler. BTW, some of the spiders, snails and centipedes were huge (4 inches) but the male spider was only thumb size and sat on the female's back. |
