4/9/2013: Rudong, China:  A quick trip to the mud flats allowed some images of Eurasian Curlew (2x in 2
pics), Bar-tailed Godwit (one in breeding plum.) , Eurasian Curlew + Eastern Curlew , Bar-tailed Godwit +
Red Knot, all in flight.  It was a delight to see a Black-faced Spoonbill flock fly by!  Then: Black-bellied
Plover (Grey Plover) , Bar-tailed Godwit in breeding plumage and flock in flight, Common Redshank
stretching and Eurasian Oystercatcher (also in flight). Also Saunder's Gull , Vega Gull , and a distant
Nordmann's Greenshank are shown.
4/9/2013: Century Park, Shanghai, China:  Tried to find the Red-billed Leiothrix trio seen the evening
before but only found the resident Vinous-throated Parrotbill flock with which they were hanging.  The
parrotbills are always fun to watch!  Also, a Pale Thrush.
4/18+22/2013: Century Park and Chonming Forest Park, Shanghai, China: Grey Wagtail , Eurasian
Blackbird , Chinese Grosbeak , Siberian Stonechat , a surprise visit of a flock of Black-winged Stilts in
Century Park , Pale Thrush Eastern Cattle Egret, Grey-capped Greenfinch (or Common Greenfinch) , and
various warblers TBD.
4/27/2013: South of Shanghai, China continued: On a brilliant day, we caught a some unusual (and usual)
migrants just outside Shanghai!  Ultramarine Flycatcher , Narcissus Flycatcher , Japanese Thrush (m+f) ,
Grey-headed Canary Flycatcher , and Grey-backed Thrush (m+f).  Also: 3 pics of a Pale Thrush and a
Yellow Wagtail calling.
