| 11/24,25/2011 A trip to Canada was exciting thanks to our guide Bruce Di Labio who showed us Ruffed Grouse , Spruce Grouse , Gray Jay , and White-winged Crossbills . We also saw numerous Common Redpoll flocks , a Hooded Merganser flock , and lots of other birds! Thanks Bruce! |
| 11/24,25/2011 A trip to Canada was exciting thanks to our guide Bruce Di Labio who showed us Ruffed Grouse , Spruce Grouse , Gray Jay , and White-winged Crossbills (See below!) The highlight for us was a Snowy Owl that allowed us to approach quite close. A magnificent creature! Also saw (but we didn't get quite so close to) many Rough-legged Hawks , Red-tailed Hawks , and Harrier Hawks . We don't often get to see a Northern Shrike - unfortunately he preferred the wire as a hunting perch . Thanks Bruce! |
