5/24/11 White Clay Creek SP, DE Nothing cuter than chicks in the Spring time - in this case Mallard chicks. Also caught a Lincoln's Sparrow in the woods.

5/25/11 Checking on shorebirds around Prime Hook NWR, DE: A Black-bellied Plover (Breeding Plumage) was out catching worms; a Snowy Egret gave us a look; and a Black Skimmer flock was a delight to watch! Also: Dunlin and Redknot along with a Laughing Gull (light direction wasn't the best).

5/28/11 Quick stop at the shore and Bombay Hook NWR: Blue Grosbeak (m and either f or 1st year m) and Eastern Kingbird - they're back! A Great Egret flock was gobbling tadpoles faster than the camera could shoot. Also: Ruddy Turnstone , a rather ragged Red-winged Blackbird, and a Snowy Egret showing off.

6/2/11 Brief stop at Assateague island, MD on the way back from a NC trip. Sorry birds, the stars of the show were the new wild pony foals! The whole troop (OK herd) walked up to the camera. Did catch an American Oystercatcher , a Clapper Rail , a Red-winged Blackbird, and a Willet as well.
