4/26-29/11 It was stormy as we birded Magee Marsh, Ohio and Pt. Pelee, Canada:  At Pt. Pelee, a flock of a
thousand Red-breasted Merganser (s) were interacting, diving, and surfing at the point.  First, a Horned
grebe came close , a Great Horned Owl had a nest with two chicks (though we only saw one), a
Double-crest Cormornant flew by, a Brown Creeper, a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher were staying out of the
wind.  Beautiful place!
5/7/11 A little out of order again but here is a very obliging Louisiana Waterthrush who came out into the
sunlight for us at Conowingo, MD along with a few pics from MI : a Kildeer taking a bath, a Forster's Tern
study, a Solitary Sandpiper , a Great Blue Heron pair on their nest (see our newest book on Amazon.com,
"A Ruckus in the Rookery" for brilliant pics from Florida and a fun story), and a Common Grackle.
5/10/11 Reporting a little out of chronological order, but headed down to Conowingo, MD on a brilliant day
to see the Bald Eagle nest.  Couldn't stay long and the family (3 chicks) wouldn't pop up together but the
activity was fun to watch.  Also a Scarlet Tanager (m) , an Orchard Oriole (f) with nest material , a
Brown-headed Cowbird fight , an Eastern Phoebe ,  a Brown Thrasher , and Gray Catbird .
