1/30/2011 The heavy snow in DE forced the hungry sparrows to show themselves.  Shown here: a Field
Sparrow study along with a Song Sparrow (doing the splits) and a very shy Tree Sparrow.
1/29/2011 Conowingo, MD put on a show.  Not only was there a glorious sunrise, but a Golden-crowned
Kinglet, a Carolina Wren, and a Bald Eagle showed up.  That wasn't enough.  Then, a Brown Creeper , a
Carolina Chickadee , and a White-throated Sparrow came out of the woods!
1/31/2011 Bombay Hook, DE:  With all the snow predicted this week, just had to get out while there was
sunshine!  A gorgeous Northern Harrier posed rather close - love that exotic face.  The male was hunting
nearby.  Also, a Horned Lark, a Red-tailed Hawk, and a Savannah Sparrow were out and about.
2/6/2011 Bombay Hook, DE again:  A lone and rather distant Snow Bunting was feeding at Cartanza Rd.,
while a Great Blue Heron put on a show at the Hook along with a Mallard and Black Duck flock.  It was nice
to see Red-winged Blackbird individuals singing (surely spring is right around the corner).  A Field
Sparrow popped out briefly and a Fox got really, really comfortable right by the road.  The Redhead was
from a brief stop at the Brandywine, but the fellow was backlit and was in a difficult spot.
