11/27/2010 We were lucky to stumble upon a wonderful guide going out to Fisherman island, VA with a
group and were able to tag along.  A big thank you!  It was a wonderful treat.  We saw oodles of
Yellow-rumped Warbler (s), a Downy Woodpecker , and a Great Egret hunting the swamps.  Hawks were
zipping through and we were able to catch two Red-tailed Hawk (s) and a Red-shouldered Hawk on the
wing, along with a Drake Hooded Merganser flying by. A fabulous Turkey Vulture kettle swirled in the
skies  - it was quite a treat to watch.
11/27+28/2010 After heading out to Fisherman island, VA (see below), we stopped at Chincoteague NWR,
VA and then headed to Cape Henlopen SP, DE.  CHSP is shown here:  A Brown-headed Nuthatch study, a
Black Duck pair, a rather extensive Bufflehead study (beautiful creatures!), A Red-breasted Nuthatch , an
American Goldfinch in Autumn leaves, and a Tufted Titmouse who was surprised to find the camera so
close!  (The Red-breasted Nuthatch actually landed on the lens and then tried to enter it!  Perhaps it
thought the dark hole would make a good nesting spot?)  P.S. FLOWERS in NOVEMBER???

at sunset, a Green-winged Teal , a Snow Goose flock blushing as the sun sets. (More pics coming...)
11/20/2010 Bombay Hook, DE (see next page also)  A Ring-necked Duck flock did a fly by; a Northern
Harrier flitted over the grasses; a Ring-billed Gull is shown in flight; an American Wigeon flock was
keeping its distance; an American Avocet flock took flight; American Coot individuals floated by; a couple
of male Gadwall (s) showed up; and a Canada Goose flock came in for a landing (also a pic of them from
Carousel Farms, DE).
