9/18+19/10 Birding around Hockessin and Ashland, DE: A Rose-breasted Grosbeak showed up over the
weekend along with a nice show of hawks (Red-tailed Hawk and Cooper's Hawk shown). A Lincoln's
Sparrow was a nice surprise! Also: Northern Cardinal , Northern Parula , Song Sparrow , a beautiful
Black-throated Green Warbler , American Gold Finch flock, Harry Woodpecker , a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
playing with spider webs, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Eastern Bluebird, Field Sparrow , Blue Grosbeak (f),  
and finally, more female Indigo Bunting (s). (What a year for them - never seen so many!)

8/17 - 9/6/10 around MD and DE: Running behind as usual! Some pics from our files:  Indigo Buntings have
been prolific this year as far as we are concerned! Here is a study (2 rows) along with a Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher who decided to preen in front of our lens! Then: Prairie Warbler , Song Sparrow , Green
Heron , an adult Chipping Sparrow feeding its young, a Common Yellowthroat pair, Gray Catbird , a
Chestnut-sided Warbler , Black Vulture , and a nonbreeding-plummaged American Goldfinch.
