| 12/15/18 to 12/18/18: Camping the Florida midlands: We slept to smiling stars and a Barred Owl party - it was great! Crested Caracara, Palm Warbler , Pine Warbler (ad. and 1st yr.), Savannah Sparrow , Grasshopper Sparrow , Eastern Phoebe , Eastern Meadowlark , Great Blue Heron , Northern Harrier , Loggerhead Shrike , Gray Catbird , Clay-colored Sparrow , and Downy Woodpecker ! Then: Swamp Sparrow , Red-bellied Woodpecker fighting a squirrel for a home, Turkey Vulture , Tricolored Heron , Belted Kingfisher , Merlin , White Ibis , Yellow-bellied Sapsucker , Pied-billed Grebe , Common Gallinule , Green Heron , Ring-necked Duck , Fulvous Whistling-Duck , American Wigeon , Blue-winged Teal , Anhinga , and Least Bittern . |
