11/20/18:  North of JAX, FL: a jaunty little Belted Kingfisher was fishing from a post.  After his catch, he
showed off a bit too much; a gull swooped down to steal it and the kingfisher had to hurry off to save his
breakfast from the thief.  
11/20/18:  North of JAX, FL:  Osprey busy with a fish (on a rather gray day).  Also: Lesser Black-backed
Gull in various plumage stages, Great Egret , Ring-billed Gull , Royal Tern , Ruddy Turnstone with food,
Sandwich Tern , Snowy Egret , White Ibis , Common Tern , Black Skimmer , Caspian Tern , Black-bellied
Plover , Herring Gull , and Double-crested Cormorant .
11/20/18:  North of JAX, FL:  The endangered and rather plain (in non-breeding plumage) Red Knot always
gives our heartstrings a tug.   PLEASE don't let your dogs off the leash on the beach and give these
birds some space if you can.  Thanks!  Also, Piping Plovers need all the help they can get!
