8/28/18 to 9/9/18: We were fortunate enough to head to Ecuador for two weeks! We flew into Quito, headed up to Tandayapa, then drove east to Milpe, west to Guango Lodge, and back to Quito. It was a fantastic trip and we are finally DONE sorting the wonderful hummingbirds etc.... Click on NEXT PAGE below to go back in time....

9/9/18: Antisana Volcano, Ecuador: The last day we drove up to the Antisana Ecological Reserve before we flew home. We caught glimpses of the volcano as the mists ebbed and flowed. A grand highlight was seeing the Giant Hummingbird (largest) quite close! Also Carunculated Caracara (ad, juv with food), Black Flowerpiercer , Plain-coloured Seedeater , Plumbeous Sierra-Finch , and Stout-billed Cinclodes .

9/9/18: Antisana Volcano, Ecuador: The last day we drove up to the Antisana Ecological Reserve. We caught glimpses of the volcano as the mists ebbed and flowed. Another grand highlight was seeing the Andean Condor (We saw 4, though the sightings weren't as close as we would have liked. Still - no complaints!!!) Also: Andean Lapwing , Andean Gull , Black-chested Buzzard-Eagle , Great Thrush , Great Sapphirewing at feeder , Black-billed Shrike-Tyrant , Chestnut-winged Cinclodes , Eared Dove (juv), Plain-capped Ground-Tyrant , and Andean Teal . The landscape was awesome!
