|4/27/18 to 5/3/18: FLORIDA: We traveled down the east coast of Florida to Key West, and then took the
ferry to Dry Tortugas, FL, where we camped for three nights. We are still astounded by what we all saw!
Mangrove Cuckoo, Wurdemann's Great Blue Heron, Black Noddy, and an American Flamingo as well!
Go back in time and Click on NEXT PAGE below for more pics from the beginning of this trip.
|5/2 and 5/3/18: Dry Tortugas, FL: Our last evening and last day! First, a Merlin! Then, the warblers were to
die for and the light was perfect. Cape May Warbler , Black-throated Blue Warbler , Blackpoll Warbler ,
Common Yellowthroat , Magnolia Warbler , Northern Parula, Ovenbird , Indigo Bunting (not a warbler but
what amazing color), Yellow Warbler , Tennessee Warbler , and Prairie Warbler. The American Flamingo
showed up on our last day but remained distant. It was the first landing record for the island.
|5/2 and 5/3/18: Dry Tortugas, FL: Our last evening and last day! There was an American Redstart invasion
and we could not pass up the opportunity to TRY and capture these beauties.
|5/2 and 5/3/18: Dry Tortugas, FL: Our last evening and last day! A fascinating Osprey (light caribbean race)
showed up and we were able to study this bird in detail before it moved on. Also: more Magnificent
Frigatebird images (since they hung over the fort just begging us to take their picture).
