| 10/3/2017 : Amelia Island area, FL: We were excited to see juvenile Peregrine Falcons playing in the wind over the wild beaches. Grabbed the camera and had 30 in three hours! How thrilling to catch full frame pics of these beauties as they swooped overhead. One caught an injured, unidentified shearwater that we were hurrying over the sands to see. Many Osprey individuals were hunting as well while a Parasitic Jaeger allowed us to approach slowly as it rested on the beach. What a morning! Also shown: Greater Black-backed Gull , Brown Pelican , Piping Plover , Royal Tern , Sanderling flock, and Short-billed Dowitcher . |

| 10/14/2017 : Amelia Island area, FL: Migration gave us an American Kestrel, pleased with its catch, hunting along the dunes. Also: A Brown Pelican group at sunrise along with Caspian Tern , Laughing Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull , a banded Piping Plover , Sanderling , Semipalmated Plover , Snowy Egret , and a Willet with a crab breakfast. The days have been simply stunning! |
