| 9/9 and 9/10/2017 : The Haw River, NC: Our escape from Irma still allowed for some birding! (All was fine on our return - feel very blessed!) A very cool Yellow-billed Cuckoo gave us some looks (tho it continued to be backlit for us.) A wonderful female Summer Tanager came out along with a female Scarlet Tanager. (Males were in hiding.) Also : Red-tailed Hawk , Red-eyed Vireo , Cedar Waxwing , Blue-winged Warbler , American Redstart , Yellow-throated Vireo (with young possibly), Downy Woodpecker , and American Goldfinch (also feeding young). |
| 8/23 to 8/29/2017 : A trip to Denver, CO allowed us to see both family and birds! Lots of mammals and wild flowers were seen as well. Click NEXT PAGE below for Colorado! |
