| 2/1 - 2/11/2017 Costa Rica: We had a fantastic trip to Costa Rica - the people were lovely and the scenery was gorgeous. We traveled to Monteverde (1 day down to Pacific Coast, also Santa Elena and Paradise Reserve - Thanks, Jorge!), then to Dave and Dave's at La Virgen - Thanks, Dave and Dave! (and La Selva), and on to Poas Volcano and La Paz. The hummingbirds and trogons and toucans were awesome! It will take a while to go throught the images. | 2/6/2017 Day 6, Dave and Dave's Nature Pavillion at La Virgen, Costa Rica: After Bosque de Paz Biological Reserve (See NEXT PAGE below) we headed to a spot that has quite a reputation with photographers. The Daves do a wonderful job, have a wonderful setup, and have fabulous birds on their property! In the first two hours or so, we caught Rufous Motmot , Red-throated Ant-Tanager (m), Great Green Macaw , Green Honeycreeper (m,f) , White-collared Manikin (f or imm), Yellow-throated Euphonia , Montezuma Oropendola , Gray-headed Chachalaca , Chestnut-headed Oropendola , and Black-cheeked Woodpecker (m,f) . |
