| 2/1 - 2/11/2017 Costa Rica: We had a fantastic trip to Costa Rica - the people were lovely and the scenery was gorgeous. We traveled to Monteverde (1 day down to Pacific Coast, also Santa Elena and Paradise Reserve - Thanks, Jorge!), then to Dave and Dave's at La Virgen - Thanks, Dave and Dave! (and La Selva), and on to Poas Volcano and La Paz. The hummingbirds and trogons and toucans were awesome! It will take a while to go throught the images. | 2/3/2017 Costa Rica: La Ensenada Wildlife Refuge (Pacific Coast): On the 3rd Day we headed to a gorgeous refuge along the coast and found: White-throated Magpie-Jay , Lesser Nighthawk (landing right in front of us, then took off again) , Turquoise-browed Motmot , Scaly-breasted Hummingbird , Green Kingfisher , Green-breasted Mango , Squirrel Cuckoo , Gray-headed Yellowthroat , Cinnamon Hummingbird , White-collared Seedeater , Montezuma Oropendola (more of these later), and Common Black Hawk . |

| 2/3/2017 Costa Rica: La Ensenada Wildlife Refuge (Pacific Coast): We actually recognized some old friends: Little Blue Heron (juv) , Common ground-Dove , Prothonotary Warbler , Black-necked Stilt , Yellow Warbler , Tricolored Heron , White Ibis , and Spotted Sandpiper . |
