1/6/2017  Amelia Island, Fl:  HAPPY NEW YEAR!  We were able to take off a morning to bird 'on island'.  We
caught a Red-shouldered Hawk greeting the dawn as well as a Pileated Woodpecker zipping over the
Greenway.  Also:  Great Egret , Eastern Phoebe , Downy Woodpecker , and Swamp Sparrow.  Also a few
pics from back in December when there were shorebirds swarming the lagoon south of the island:
Lesser Yellowlegs flock, Semipalmated Plover flock, and Short-billed Dowitcher flock .
