| 6/6/2014 Harris Neck NWR , Piedmont NWR, GA and Daniel Boone Forest, KY: On our way to see family (and also the Kirkland's Warbler in MI), we saw some goodies along the way. White Ibis , White-eyed Vireo , Red-headed Woodpecker , Red-winged Blackbird (of course!) and a nesting pair of Red-cockaded Woodpeckers (not so usual!), Ovenbird , Northern Flicker , a curious Least Bittern , Eastern Kingbird , Fish Crow , Common Grackle , and an Anhinga with breakfast. |

| 6/9/2014 Hartwick Pines SP, MI: It was a treat to see the Kirkland's Warbler and hear the story of it slow but positive comeback! Still, only 1,000+ singing males have been counted. Also, Mourning Dove , Common Nighthawk , Chipping Sparrow , Nashville Warbler , Black-and-white Warbler , Blue Jay , and a Spotted Sandpiper along a MI lake bank. |
